As summer winds down, we seem to find the hottest days here in the southern United States. The challenge in our home is to keep the air conditioner from overworking. So, we maintain an oven-free dinner menu through mid-September when the temperature cools enough for our oven to regain its usefulness.
If you have the same struggle, use our oven-free dinner menu with recipe links to prepare meals without heating up your kitchen.

On the 28th, the link takes me to a bourbon chicken recipe. While it sounds yummy, I was looking for a good beef tip recipe. Do you have a link to the correct page?
Oops! How embarrassing. You can find the beef tips recipe here: http://www.sherrylwilson.com/pressure-cooker-beef-tips-with-mushrooms-and-onions/
You don’t by any chance have grocery lists for this menu do you?
I’m sorry, Kim. I don’t have that available. But, if you are looking for a menu service that will give you great ideas and a shopping list, I recommend eMeals. Their button is in my sidebar. 🙂
Thank you for the info Tabitha!!!
Hi! I clicked on your cheesey crunchy onion chicken and there was no recipe? Do you have a recipe for this? Thanks!
Hi Amy. I’m not sure why it isn’t working for you. The recipe can be found here: http://www.meetpenny.com/2013/06/recipe-cheesy-crunchy-onion-chicken/
Well I might be missing it, is there a link to sautéed apples listed on 15 Aug.? Thank you! Love the Broccoli Salad!!!
Hi Mandy, I normally just melt a couple of tablespoons of butter, add sliced apples, and let them soften, stirring occasionally. If you need a specific recipe, I recommend http://www.recipe.com/. Hope this helps.
For the Crispy Coconut Chicken Salad on the 6th — how do you make it, not in the oven?
The crispy coconut chicken salad looks yummy, but the linked recipes says to make the chicken in an oven. Did you have an oven-free way you like to make it?
I will be honest. I did not verify that all of the recipes were oven-free and trusted my friends to suggest recipes based on the stipulations I gave. Phooey! I’m sorry.
I guess you could try pan-frying or the toaster oven. 🙁
This is awesome! Thanks!
